Have you felt like things aren’t going your way lately? You’re not the only one…
If you are someone who follows astrology, you know that mercury is in retrograde right now, and things are a little wonky. If you are having a similar experience like me, your technology and communication have been disrupted since last week due to Mercury being in retrograde. My cell phone has broken again, my computer needed to be restarted 3 times before it functioned correctly, and paperwork is taking forever to get approved.
If you don’t know what this means, retrograde periods can be challenging causing processes to be delayed or things to seem as if they aren’t going as planned. Decision making can often be difficult during this time. We may often get frustrated and feel like nothing is going our way. It may not affect all of us, but if you are experiencing a bit of miscommunication or are feeling like your head is all over the place, you may want to take some time to take advantage of this retrograde period that will end September 22nd rather than get frustrated.
Retrograde periods are wonderful for personal evaluation, reflection, and determining how you want to spend your energy. Here are some ways you can take advantage of it. (I am totally doing the same)
1. Reflect—take out your favorite journal and write down answers to the following questions:
What’s the most important thing for me right now?
How can I make this come to life?
What am I asking for guidance in?
What’s my next step? (starting sep 22)
2. Don’t take it personally–we can often turn the chaos from a mercury retrograde period into points where we begin to self-sabotage or feel really down and scratch any plans that we made or have been making. It is a great time to be real with yourself related to what is the most important thing to pay attention to, but no need to take it all personally. Say this to yourself whenever you get frustrated….
Let it go, let it flow, if I need to know it will come back in flow….listen to what you need to know.
3. Meditate—Sit in silence for a few minutes with your breath just to clear your mind, or if you feel comfortable do a longer meditation. I just discovered this free 30 day mediation by Kristoffer Carter which I love and is especially great for those who have not meditated before.
4. Make Plans—You may have been saying to yourself “I need a plan or I want to change this or that.” Take this time to make it happen. Visualize or write down what your steps are to make what you want happen. We all could use the time to focus on our own desires and make them a reality.
